Kirsty Milward

Kirsty Milward founded Suchana and continues to play a role in shaping the organisation and translating its objectives into real practice. She is also primarily responsible for communications and fundraising, for reporting on grants, and often guides new projects in the preparation and early stages.

Kirsty teaches English to 8-11 year olds in the Early Learning Group every Sunday and Wednesday. It is through regular teaching, she feels, that it is possible to remain deeply in touch with the challenges and issues facing adivasi children in their education processes.

Although Kirsty plays a leadership role in Suchana, she especially values the culture of shared responsibility and shared initiative that has gradually evolved in the organisation.

All her work in Suchana is on a voluntary basis.
